Charmed

Hey Everyone, welcome back to Stash Blasting Wednesday on Tuesday.

Today I am swapping Tuesday for Wednesday. I’ll be back with Tuesday tomorrow.

This little quilt is one that I created about a year ago. Then after it sat for several months I decided to take it to my long armer to be quilted. They did an awesome job on it too.

This quilt is 5 inch square friendly using one charm pack plus a few more to create this lap quilt. The charms are used whole, cut in half and cut in quarters to create the design.

Hence the name Charmed. The lap sized quilt pictured at the top of the page is 54 ½″ x 63 ½″.

If you prefer you can mix and match the 2 ½″ pre-cuts with the 5 inch pre-cuts – less cutting that way.

A very modern layout with the coloured pieces surrounded by a plain single coloured fabric.

The pattern itself has a few sizes ranging from placemat to lap size. Make the rows longer and add a few more rows to make the quilt even larger. All that’s needed is another charm pack and more background fabric.

This is a fairly economical quilt to create. Also a great way to use up a charm pack from your stash and along with some yardage. Plus it is easy and fast with much of the cutting already done for you – perfect to take to a retreat, create on a rainy day or take to the cottage as a summer project.

Just some fun I had with a charm pack and oh there are so many wonderful charm packs that you could use.

Wouldn’t it look great in jewel tones with a black background? Maybe I’ll make the table runner size in this fabric combo. The table runner is 14 ½″ x 38 ½″.

What colour combo would you use?

Happy Quilting!
