Hey Everyone, welcome back to Coffee Talk Saturday.
I am on the road again but this time I headed northeast rather than the usual south from my house and ended up in a place called Orleans, Ontario which is just east of Ottawa proper.
On my way here I saw a momma moose and her calf – they were just coming out of a grove of trees. I haven’t seen a moose for years. I also saw a turtle sitting in the middle of the road – I suggested he move a bit faster to get to safety. And of course a wild turkey – he was by himself which is very odd – maybe he was the straggler.
Sorry no pics of the wildlife.
There is a fabulous quilt shop here in Orleans called Quilty Pleasures and they are celebrating their 11th Anniversary this year. And I am their anniversary guest speaker/teacher – what an honour.
I was invited to present my trunk show on colour and to teach my Bargello Sunflower class.
Welcome to Quilty Pleasures. This is the view as you step in the front door.
The trunk show went off without a hitch which is good because I left my cheat notes in the hotel room. There was a great turn out of quilters and some of them will be back for the 2 day Bargello Sunflower class.
The shop is awesome – bright with nice high ceilings making room for many quilt samples and lots and lots and lots of bolts of fabric. I am definitely going to be in trouble – gorgeous colours, patterns and textures.
There is also a nook of notions and rulers.
As well as all kinds of patterns.
And if your in the market for a new machine there are some of those to choose from as well – Pfaff or Janome – take your pick.
Leslie and Val who own the shop along with all of their staff have made me feel right at home. I’m the short one in the middle.
Thanks so much for inviting me to celebrate your 11th Anniversary with you and be a part of Quilty Pleasures for a few days.
What an awesome shop with fabulous staff. Definitely a must stop if you are in the Ottawa area.
Happy Quilting
