Hey Everyone, welcome back to Stitch Along Sunday.
This week’s rules were to quilt our piece in any manner we wished. We could also add some appliqué if we wanted but it was optional. I chose not to as I figured the piece was busy enough without adding something else to it.
For the full set of rules find them on Ruth’s blog – Rules Week 4. While you are there check out the March Gallery to see what everyone else has done. There are few people participating this month.
I sandwiched my piece and picked out some thread. I was going to try and find a high contrasting thread to each fabric but in the end just picked something that went with each one. I decided that there really isn’t any way to get the contrast the piece needs to see the Snail’s Trail block.
I did plain old stippling on each set of fabrics – nothing fancy and it didn’t take long at all. In fact it got me warmed up for the 73 year old quilt top I sandwiched on Saturday and spent Sunday quilting. I’ll take a pic when it is all done so you can see. Today I get to make and add bias binding – something I have never done before but since the quilt has scalloped edges I need to use the bias binding.
Here is a close up of the stippling.
That’s it for this week.
Happy Quilting!
