Hey Everyone, welcome back to Stitch Along Sunday.
Can you believe it? We are half way through 2015 and starting our 6th stitch along of this year. Where does the time go?
This week the rules are really quite simple – pick 3 fabrics – one being something you aren’t likely to use or are not sure where to use it, one to complement that one and one to contrast with the first one. Then pick a shape or two or three – circles, squares, rectangles, triangles, hexagons, lines – you get the idea.
Here are the complete rules for the first Sunday of July on Ruth’s blog – July Week 1 Rules.
Fabric #1 – what will I do with this?
I bought this fabric at Quilty Pleasures this spring when I was teaching my Bargello Sunflower class there. I just had to have it because it had both X’s and O’s on it in a gradation of green. Well, i’m not really sure what to do with it other than a lining for a Santa Sac or a backing for quilt.
I’ve decided I’ll use a bit of it in this month’s stitch along piece.

Fabric #2 – contrast to the first
This fabric even though it is has a colourful pattern contrasts quite nicely with the green fabric above. I’ve got tons of this fabric and have used it as a lining for a Santa Sac.
Fabric #3 – complementary to the first
I bought this fabric at the Red Red Bobbin last fall and have yet to find a use for it. Now I can use a little bit and put it back into the cupboard for when another opportunity arrises to use it.
Three Fabrics Together
I think they look pretty good together – I may or may not be saying that by the end of the month.
Shape
I’ve decided that my shape will be triangles – all different shapes and sizes of them. I’ll have them cut out and ready for next week.
Happy Quilting!
