Let the fabric do the talking
Have you always wanted to make a landscape but just didn’t know where to start? Then this workshop is for you as Jen breaks the process down into manageable pieces to create a simple but magnificent landscape.
Begin with a photo, sketch, or let your imagination guide you. Simplify the image to its core elements using just a few lines. This reduction will serve as the foundation for your fabric landscape.
Translate your simplified lines into fabric pieces. Choose a variety of fabrics with varying textures and designs to represent different elements in the scene.
Let the fabric and stitching do the talking to create a simple dynamic landscape where less is more.
Workshop Features
- learn piecing techniques to add a sense of flow and dynamism to your landscape
- experiment with different angles and shapes to infuse energy into the composition
- learn how to layer the pieced sections with both stitched seams and raw edges to enhance depth and dimension – this technique adds a tactile quality and visually separates different elements in your landscape
- the final touch involves adding just the right amount of quilting whether by machine or by hand
This will be a 5 hour workshop via Zoom. The workshop information will be presented as a slideshow as well as live demos with lots of time to stitch, play, experiment and ask questions.
