Hey Everyone, welcome back to Inspirational Sunday.
As you have probably figured out by now I love flowers whether they be wildflowers growing along the side of the road, in the forest or flowers I have planted and are growing in my garden.
One of the wildflowers found in the Australian Outback that intrigued me and my favourite was the poached egg daisy. Yes, it really does look like a poached egg with the yellow yolk as the centre and the white making a rim around it. In-between the two circles though there is a light ring of green – maybe this is where Dr Seuss came up with his idea for green eggs and ham.
Some of them are not so perfectly shaped which makes them seem even more like eggs to me. Just like when you crack one and pour it into the pan it can make interesting shapes.
I would love to make a quilt using this flower but I just haven’t quite figured out how to give it the dimension it needs with fabric yet. As you can see from the close up photo below it is made up of teeny, tiny little flowers and petals.
It will be a challenge but one that I am up for when I have a bit more time.
Happy Quilting!
