Macaroni

Hey Everyone, welcome back to Coffee Talk Saturday.

A little background would probably go a long way with this story.  June 2011 there was major flooding in my hometown of Weyburn, Saskatchewan. The house my niece lived in had a fair bit of water damage in the basement – well actually enough that the cinder block walls had huge cracks. My nephew and I were the demolishers of the basement and we removed everything – kind of fun if it wasn’t such a rotten reason to have to demolish it.

Last year in April the house was sold for removal and my niece and great niece moved in with my sister – mom and Grandma. Everyone was hoping this would only be a 6 month arrangement but as we all know houses take longer than expected and just last week they moved back into the new house.

This week my niece made dinner for my great niece who is 3. They were having macaroni. The conversation went like this:

My great niece said,

Did Grandma come over and make the macaroni?

My niece replied,

No I made it!

My great niece replied,

You know how to make macaroni?!?!?!

When my sister told me this little story I had a great chuckle. Priceless. Kids are not afraid to say anything or call you on it.  My niece has her work cut out for her for the next several years I do believe.

Have a great Saturday.

Happy Quilting!
