Icons on the Landscape – Friday November 10, 2023
Friday November 10, 2023 10 am – 4 pm EST. This workshop is suitable for all levels of quilters.
Fabric collage is a fun and versatile technique. It’s a great way to use up scraps or give non quilting fabrics a try like upholstery fabrics, rayons, silk, velvet – the sky is the limit.
Join Jen for a one-of-a-kind workshop where you will create landscape icons that celebrate the beauty of nature. You will learn how to create your own fabrics using collage and free motion zigzag. Add the finishing touches with a variety of techniques to create texture, depth, and visual interest in your art quilt.
Choose from either the polar bear or Inukshuk for this 6 hour workshop.
Mini Bargello Sunflower – Saturday November 11, 2023
Saturday November 11, 2023 10 am – 4 pm EST. This workshop is suitable for all levels of quilters.
Explore the world of colour to select fabrics for the flower, cut and sew your strips, and arrange the strips to create a wave-like effect (the Bargello). Take it one step further and cut up the Bargello to create the petals. It’s a mystery every time I make one – a bit like a box of chocolates, never know what you are going to get.
Perfect precision is not required to make this stunning little sunflower.
What colour is your sunflower going to be? Are the petal tips going to be light or dark or a combo of both?
