Hey Everyone, welcome back to Cool Tool Thursday.
Last November when I went to the Country Concessions Quilting Retreat this little item called the Cutting Mat Cleaner was in our swag bag. I took a look at it and thought interesting and wondered just how well it would work.
This little gadget is from Designs to Share with You .
I finally pulled it out of it’s packaging the other day after making a mess of the cutting board with Minkie Blanket fabric for the Infinity Scarves I have been making. If you have ever used this fabric you know all too well the mess it makes and the amount of fibre it leaves stuck to the mat.
I dragged the cleaning piece, which is made of a soft pliable plastic resin, across the mat to see what would happen. I was totally amazed at how clean my mat was when I finished. All the little bits of fibres that have built up over time were also picked up. The mat looked great and no more fluff and lint stuck to it.
To clean the gadget just simply run it under cold water. They say to keep it away from hot water and sunlight.
If you need to clean your cutting mats I can highly recommend this product as it works like a charm.
Happy Quilting!
I’ve got one of these and quite agree, absolutely marvellous how it drags stuff out of the cutting mat and leaves it clean.
Thanks Jen. One of my cutting mats is a real mess because of all the InsulBrite and batting I cut for the Christmas potholders I made. I’m going to have to look for this tool. Haven’t been able to get it clean otherwise.
Laura this tool works really well. Good luck.
Do you have any before and after photos? Also, where can we purchase one of these and how much are they? Thanks for sharing!
If you go to the link in the post and then look at their distributor section you will be able to find where they can be purchased. I have no idea how much they cost as I was given mine. I also believe that Nancy’s Notions in the US carry this product.
Very nice list I will give it a try Thanks
Thanks Paula.
