Hey Everyone, welcome back to Coffee Talk Saturday.
Back in February our cat Frostie was not doing well and I took her to the vet. End result was that we were just going to keep her comfortable on pain meds and let her go. She had a mass in her mouth which ended up being benign, renal failure and spinal arthritis.
Frostie had other ideas and is still here several months later – she has 99 lives rather than the usual 9. As a result of the spinal arthritis she has not been able to groom her back which means that the mats were just getting worse and worse. They were huge felted messes in clumps all over her body. The decision was made to have her shaved.
Of course we had to have it done at the vet clinic under sedation as I would never subject a groomer to the devil incarnate. The girls at the vet clinic made a point of telling me several times that they are not groomers.
All went well and Frostie is sporting a new do – not sure she really likes it. She spends most of her time hiding under a blanket or towel. This behaviour I am not sure is because she might be cold or because she is embarrassed that all of her gorgeous locks are gone.
Tripod thinks we have brought another cat into the house and just keeps hissing at her.
I myself think Frostie looks really cute but she does seem like a different cat and looks like one as well. I always thought she was a big cat but her bigness was all hair and now she looks so tiny without it. Won’t be long though until those long locks are growing back and all will be back to normal in Frostie’s little world.
Happy Quilting!
Hi Frosty! You look sweet with your new hairstyle, but I believe you feel strange. I guess you need to brush your fur. Nelli does that now and then because the vet said it’s better not to ‘eat’ so much hairs. We make felted balls with Nelli’s hairs.
Oh, poor Frostie! She does look hilariously funny but I’m sure it’s a very strange feeling for her. Much like when we get a lot of hair cut off I suppose. Takes getting use to. Hope she adjusts quickly.
Frostie has adjusted to her new look and she is acting like a kitten again. The hair is growing in nicely and she looks like a little lion.
