Ebb & Flow Quilt

Hey Everyone, welcome back to Story Time Monday.

Last week the Fed Ex man pulled up at the end of our driveway and I thought I didn’t order anything maybe Michael did. He said he didn’t so I wondered what we were getting. He left the box at the front door and as I brought it in the house I took a look at the label and went oh cool – Northcott Fabrics.

My Serenity Spa fabric line had  arrived. This line of fabric was designed by Cheri Strole and it is absolutely wonderful. The fabric is so calming and lets you think that you are at the beach.

Last August when I started designing patterns for Northcott this was my first fabric line to create a pattern for. The patterns are all designed many months before the fabric line is actually released. When the fabric arrives it is really quite exciting.

Ebb & Flow was designed using the Snail’s Trail block as the main block. The block is made using four of the fabrics gradating from light to dark creating a colour wash look within the block. Adding in squares of the sea shell fabric between the rail fence blocks and the sixteen patch block in the soft palette of the Serenity Spa fabrics has continued the colour wash look throughout the whole quilt.

A perfect quilt to snuggle up under at the cottage.

I can’t wait to cut up those fabrics and turn them into the Ebb & Flow quilt.
