Hey Everyone, welcome back to Coffee Talk Saturday.
Well, here it is only hours before Sunday June 2 when my piece is due for the 17th Annual International Women’s Day Art Show in Orillia and I am still working on my piece. The theme is Reflections and I am thinking maybe I should not have reflected on it as long as I did.
Why do I do this to myself? Seems either I work really well under pressure or I have no organizational skills to get a project done several days before it is due. I am going to go with I work really well under pressure.
I guess life is like that at times and I am hoping that the next piece I have to have due for somewhere will be done in a more timely fashion.
Probably not but hey, I can always dream and hope springs eternal.
A little bit about the show. This is it’s 17th year and highlights the art work of local female artists. It is a non juried show and any female artist may participate. This year there are over 90 artists working in several different mediums such as oils, acrylics, water colours, photography, glass work, iron work and textiles to name a few. It is a great show with a lot of talent – definitely worth seeing.
The exhibit is taking place at the Orillia Museum of Art and History and runs from June 5 to July 13. The opening reception is Thursday June 6 at 7 pm. Hope to see you all there.
Happy Quilting!
Keep going, Jen, I’m sure you’ll make the deadline! I too seem to work better under pressure – if not for deadlines, I might never accomplish a thing 🙂 Too bad the show is over before I’ll be visiting that area this summer (parents are in Bracebridge). Good luck at the show!
Thanks Kim. Too bad you can’t make it, it’s going to be a really great show again this year. Maybe next year?
I absolutely love that clock! Any idea where I can find one? 🙂
Angela, we found it at the One of a Kind show in Toronto a couple years ago. The artist is from a Quebec somewhere. There aren’t any details other than his logo on the clock. Sorry. 🙂
