Hey everyone,

Wow.  We had a great pair of workshops yesterday at Country Concessions.

I started the day off with a 2 hour hands-on workshop on Colour Theory which was very well received by the 16 people in our class.  We spent a lot of time talking about the colour wheel and how to use it to select colours and ultimately fabrics.  The class then spent some time down in the store pulling fabrics out and matching them up  using the new information they had learned.

In the afternoon 6 people joined me for my machine appliqué course to learn a number of different techniques to stitch appliqué with a sewing machine.  I have to admit, I wasn’t sure I was going to be fully ready for this class, however my wonderful husband came to the rescue and spent his Sunday afternoon and evening tracing, ironing, steam-a-seam-ing, cutting and laying out my sample kits so everyone would have a great variety of shapes and sizes of appliqué pieces to practise on.  Thanks babe!! 🙂

I’ve got to say, I really enjoyed putting on these workshops at Country Concessions.  The folks there were terrific, helpful and, as always, super cheerful!  A large, bright classroom to work in, and, of course, a huge variety of fabrics downstairs to play with and pull into the class when required.

So, a huge thanks to Country Concessions for hosting these two workshops and an even bigger thanks to all the wonderful ladies who came out for them.  I had a blast with you all and really looking forward to the next workshop at Country Concessions.

If you missed out on these workshops, don’t worry I’ll be presenting Colour Theory and Machine Appliqué at Country Concessions again on Saturday, 20th of October, 2012.  Here’s all the information on these and many more upcoming quilting workshops.

I am also teaching machine appliqué at Simcoe Sew and Quilt this Saturday (the 22nd), so be sure and call Michelle right away to reserve your space.
