colours of the seasons

Hey Everyone, welcome back to Stitch Along Sunday.

The first Sunday in October brings a new challenge. Ruth has a whole new set of rules for this month which I am sure are going to be interesting.

The rules for this week can be found on Ruth’s blog, October Week 1 – Rules. Make sure to check out the October Gallery so you can see what everyone else is making.

The theme for this challenge is the changing seasons. This week’s rules are to pick out 12 fabrics – 4 groups of 3. Each group of 3 is to relate to a season.

I thought oh this will be easy – well winter and autumn were but it took me a bit longer with spring and summer. I guess too many fabrics to choose from in my stash that remind me of spring and summer.

From each fabric a single square is to be cut – a 7″ , 5″ and 3″.

I decided to use a print for the largest square, the lightest fabric for the middle sized square and the darkest fabric for the smallest square. Here are my fabric choices by season.

They are all so different. I am looking forward to see what we do with them next week.

Are you going to join in the fun this month?

Happy Quilting!
