Variety of fabrics and notions

Hey Everyone, welcome back to Stitch Along Sunday.

I am a bit behind this week but that’s okay. I have been enjoying the spring like weather that has been occurring even though we still have 3 feet of snow in our yard. It might melt by summer.

I am just going to go with the old saying “April showers bring May flowers” and hopefully something good will happen.

The beginning of another Stitch Along with the beginning of a new month. Ruth has posted the rules for week 1 on her blog, Rules – April Week 1. I am sure that she will have a gallery up soon with everyone’s work as well.

The task this week was to match words to the letters in Stitch Along and then gather up a few items from those words to create our piece in the remaining weeks of April. The words need to represent colour, techniques and other things about quilting. Let’s see what words I can come up with.

S – sienna, scarlet, silver; stitching, smocking; square, soluble stabilizer

T – taupe, tan; trapunto; triangle, texture magic

I – indigo; invisible appliqué; iron

T – turquoise, teal; thread play; tulle, timtex, tyvek

C – cherry, chartreuse; curves, couching; crayons

H – hand embroidery; half square triangles, holes

A – aqua, aubergine, amber; applique; abstract

L – lime; lacework, lines; layers, landscape, lutradur

O – orange, olive; organza; oval

N – navy; needlework; netting

G – green, grey; grid work

I came up with a few words and I had a bit of help from Ruth. I certainly have lots to play with here. The items in the photo are only a few of what I may use. There were so many other words I wanted to add in but they didn’t start with any of the letters available.

Now to gather up some of these items to have ready for Sunday and the next instalment of Stitch Along Sunday.

See you next week.

Happy Quilting!
