Hey everyone,

Well, we all make mistakes and I’m certainly no different.  On this page you will find notices of any pattern corrections that are necessary after printing a pattern.

Purely Canadian Quilt Pattern

The first printing of the Purely Canadian Quilt Pattern contains two known errors.  You can distinguish the first printing from subsequent print runs by the lack of a Print Edition Number on the title page of the pattern.

Quilt will measure 56½″ x 70½″ should read 56½″ x 73½″

Outer Borders – Vertical Borders – Step 2

The vertical outer border should measure 70½″.  From this long strip made in step 1 cut TWO (2) strips 70½″ in length.  This should read:  The vertical outer border should measure 73½″.  From this long strip made in step 1 cut TWO (2) strips 73½″ in length.

Bear’s Paws

Please note that the Bear’s Paws must be made as mirror images to ensure the moose in the centre of the block is the right way up.

Bargello Sunflower

Erratum #1: Making the fabric runs and tube

At the end of making the tube after step 4 it should read:

Make a second tube as you did above by repeating the steps in the 7 fabric colour run, 5 fabric colour run and making the tube sections with the remaining A – G strips cut earlier. Cut each tube up as per instructions below to create two full Bargello stratas. Two are needed to cut the petals out of – there will be some left over which could be used to make a small sunflower.

Erratum #2: Background and Borders

The background size may need to be trimmed smaller depending on the size of seams when sewing the fusible grid borders together.

I recommend that you

Make the checkerboard border sections first with the fusible grid and then cut the background piece after measuring the border pieces to ensure the correct size is cut so that no trimming is required.

Step 5: The graphic does not match the instructions. It should show piece G being sewn to piece F of the unit made in step 3.
