Eleven placemats made from scraps

Hey Everyone, welcome back to Colourful Friday.

Janice from the Mississauga Quilter’s Guild was the recipient of one of my bags of scraps about a month ago. She dove into the bag like a kid in a candy shop.

To begin they were all dumped on the floor in a big huge heaping mess. But a colourful mess – imagine sorting all of that.

Well, Janice did. And by colour to boot. When neatly piled it doesn’t look like near as many scraps.

Then pieces were sorted even more, laid out flat and put into clear plastic bags for easy viewing and access.

Wow, I am impressed. I certainly don’t do that with my scraps.

The above pics I received only days after she got the bag of scraps.

Today I received a picture of placemats – 11 of them – all pieces, quilted, bound and ready to head over to Meals on Wheels.

It was cool to look at the placemats and see all the fabrics from my scrap stash and know where each and everyone had been used in a previous quilt.

I am so happy that my scraps are being put to good use because if I still owned them they would still be sitting in plastic bins on the shelves in the back room.

Thanks Janice, keep up the great work. The folks at Meals on Wheels are going to be delighted with your donation.

I can’t wait to see what else Janice does with my scraps.

Happy Quilting!
