The Brother ScanNCut

Hey Everyone, welcome back to Cool Tool Thursday.

So today’s tool is a really cool tool because I am now the proud owner of a Brother ScanNCut and I also have my very first sponsor.

Last fall I was telling the Brother rep in my class at CreativFest all about the mug rug challenge I had planned for 2015. She thought it was a great idea and that I should talk to her company about getting a ScanNCut for the challenge. She said she would pass along my name and contact details.

A few weeks later I heard from Brother, a few questions were asked and she said she would get back to me. Just before Christmas I had an e-mail saying they would be happy to supply me with a ScanNCut.

The ScanNCut arrived at my door and now I have a wonderful new tool in my studio to help me create fantastic appliqué pieces.

The ScanNCut is 6 inches high, 6 inches wide and 19 inches long. It is not that big but I do need to go shopping for another table for it to sit on as right now it is taking up precious real-estate on my cutting table. Plus it needs to be close to a power point.

What’s Included

Along with the physical accessories there are 702 built-in designs, 140 quilting designs and 5 built-in fonts and the best part is it is a stand-alone machine that does not require extra software or to be hooked up to a computer.

The manual is a must read before I take my first test drive. I’ve never been good at reading manuals but this time there is no exception – it is a must read.

Thanks Brother. I am so very excited about having the ScanNCut in my studio and I can’t wait to create mug rugs and other cool quilts with it.
